Glass Forever – Sustainable Synergy: A Complete Collaboration

Originally built in 1983, Minerva House is an iconic yellow brick building situated on the south bank of the River Thames. Formerly used as an office development, GPE undertook the challenge of retrofitting the property for modern use.

Angel Square, Manchester

NOMA is a major 20-acre urban regeneration project in the heart of Manchester city centre. The master plan aims to create a vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood with new homes, offices, hotels, shops, restaurants, and public spaces. When fully completed, NOMA will comprise 2.5 million sq. ft. of office space, 1 million sq. ft. of residential units, and 200,000 sq. ft. of hotels, making it one of the most significant regeneration schemes in the UK.

Eden (New Bailey), Manchester

More than just a building, Eden embodies a commitment to environmental responsibility and occupant wellbeing. Its design prioritises both sustainability and human comfort, ensuring a future-proof workspace that resonates with the sustainability values of tomorrow.

Port of Leith Distillery, Scotland

Opened in the summer of 2023, the Port of Leith Distillery is a landmark project. As the UK’s first vertical distillery, it is projected to host over 25,000 visitors in the first year alone as a flagship tourist attraction for Leith, replacing an old biscuit factory.

Halo Digital, Cyber and Innovation Park

HALO Digital, Cyber and Innovation Park is a pioneering example of sustainable urban development in Scotland. Situated on a 23-acre brownfield site, which was once home to the Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky distillery, today, HALO is redefining the landscape of mixed-use developments, whilst championing the ethos of net zero carbon footprint.

Glass Forever – Salter Demolition: Glass Recycling Excellence

Seeking to enhance their existing repurpose and recycling approach to sustainability, the team at Salter approached Saint-Gobain Glass with a keen interest in participating in the Glass Forever Programme for the historic Waterhouse building in Central London. With the support of the client M&G, Salter Demolition enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to actively engage in the programme, identifying Saint-Gobain Glass as the ideal proactive partner.

Carnegie Teaching and Research Building, Leeds Met University

The Carnegie Teaching and Research Building (CTAR), a £45 million state-of-the-art facility, serves as the flagship home for the Carnegie School of Sport, blending modernity with the historic charm of its surroundings. Its enhanced public realm offers a vibrant and flexible environment for students and athletes alike.

The Black and White Building

The Black and White building’s hybrid structure is a testament to modern engineering ingenuity, featuring a framework crafted from beech LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) complemented by CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) slabs and core. This design allows for the creation of expansive, open workspaces, eliminating the need for internal partition walls. Additionally, meticulous coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems minimises visual disruption, ensuring adaptability to future needs.

Glass Forever – Sternfenster: Transforming Waste Recycling

Based in Lincoln, Sternfenster is a family-owned company specialising in the manufacture and installation of PVCu and aluminium doors, windows, and conservatories. Sustainability lies at the heart of operations for Sternfenster, evident through initiatives such as a fully electric vehicle fleet for the sales team and the installation of solar panels at their cutting-edge 110,000-square-foot factory. These panels contribute to 30% of the factory’s electricity usage, positively contributing to the company’s carbon emissions targets.

Glass Forever – KpH: It’s a Smashing Success

Building on the triumph of our initial collaboration, we are proud to announce another successful partnership with KpH, a leading name in Deconstruction Solutions and Environmental Services. Together, we have completed yet another outstanding Glass Forever recovery project in the heart of Central London. Glass Forever is our circular economy approach to sustainability, and for our post-consumer customers, we’re developing numerous glass recovery models that are simple, effective, and meticulous in approach to ensure optimal output for the clients and Saint-Gobain Glass.
