gf solid green 2025

Established in 2000, Double R Glass & Roofing Systems Ltd produce high-quality sealed units, decorative panels, and conservatory roof kits to serve the Midlands, East Anglia and South of England markets. Bringing together the latest technologies with a highly skilled and experienced workforce, Double R Glass & Roofing Systems is a proactive glass systems provider working towards improving its sustainability practices.

To enhance its sustainability efforts, the company established a closer partnership with Saint-Gobain Glass. The new strategy focuses on refining the collection of cullet waste and preparing it for re-manufacturing into high-performance glazing at Saint-Gobain Glass.

“It was a simple decision and even simpler set-up from the Glass Forever team at Saint-Gobain Glass,” comments Neil Spicer, Operations Director. “The seamless setup by the Glass Forever team at Saint-Gobain Glass ensures that all our waste glass contributes to the production of new glass at the Eggborough plant. By doing so, we actively promote sustainable practices and support the circular economy, addressing growing concerns among our customers and supply chain partners.”

Wayne Wright, Product Technical Support Manager at Saint-Gobain Glass, praised Double R Glass for their cooperation and receptiveness during the installation process. He said, “It is always a pleasure to work with Double R. They were fully engaged in learning about the glass recycling process, helping to ensure optimal cullet collection to prevent contamination and be ready for transportation back to our cullet recycling plant. This is just the beginning and I’m excited to see what more we can do together as the programme continues to grow.”
